Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve don’t know anything about spray foam but have some projects I’d like to insulate with foam. How difficult is it to apply? Can I do it myself?

Great question and one we get all the time! A basic knowledge of hand tools and a willingness to learn is all that’s required. We’ve designed and built the LIL PUP series to be easy to operate and maintain. A simple operators guide is included and we’re always available to answer any questions.

What’s the difference between high and low pressure machines?

High pressure machines operate between 800 and1600 PSI and low pressures machines operate between 200 and 600 PSI for spraying foam. High pressure systems use an impingement mix type gun while low pressure models rely on air nucleation for mixing the chemicals. Both are good and deciding what’s best for your needs depends largely on your intended use and budget. High pressure models deliver higher outputs and are more complex to operate and costlier to maintain. Low pressure systems are generally lower output but about a third the cost and much easier to operate. High pressure requires high amperage so you’ll need 230 volt power with a minimum of 40 amps while low pressure systems operate on 115 volt.

Do you need special training or certification to operate spray foam equipment?

Training is always a good idea and highly recommended if you decide to go with a high pressure machine. We’ve designed our low pressure PUP series to be very easy to operate
